I’m a solution architect with over 20 years in the technology sector, specializing in sales support, service delivery, and client relationship management. I’ve generated $10 million in pipeline, led strategic customer engagements, and migrated systems and data to the cloud across higher education, government, and financial services.
The work starts with listening. I take the time to understand what a client is actually trying to accomplish, design and propose the right solution, and then stay with it through delivery and implementation. When a project runs into trouble — and some do — I’m the one who re-aligns the effort, re-establishes trust, and works the problem until it’s resolved. I move comfortably between the CxO conversation and the whiteboard with the engineers, and I adjust how I communicate to fit whoever’s in the room.
These days a growing share of my time goes to building with AI rather than just talking about it. I design and run my own systems hands-on — automation pipelines that capture and process information end to end, retrieval and memory layers that make an assistant genuinely useful over time, and agent workflows that do real work unattended. Most of what I’ve learned came from building the thing, breaking it, and building it again. I write about those experiments here: what worked, what didn’t, and what it actually takes to make this stuff useful — in daily life and in the enterprise.

Personally, I’m a dad to Chase and Rylee and I live in O’Fallon, Illinois. Most of my time outside work goes to them. When there’s room left over, I read, take photographs, do a little woodworking, and dig into the McVickar family history — a project that’s grown into recording my father’s stories and writing them down before they’re lost.
